There’s a quiet magic to French inspired engagements — the soft breeze, the neutral tones, the intimacy, the calm. The kind of romance you find in a tucked-away café in Provence, where time slows down and every moment feels cinematic! That was the heart behind this session: creating a European café experience without ever leaving Utah, and leaning fully into that warm, sun-soaked, effortless energy France is known for!
This shoot brought all the charm of a Provence day-date: café table flirting, soft linen textures, gentle greenery, and the sweetest, most natural chemistry between these two! If you’ve ever dreamed of engagement photos in Paris, Provence, the French Riviera, or a French château courtyard, this session is the perfect inspiration for crafting that vibe — no passport required!
I love helping couples build an aesthetic that feels intentional and emotional – it’s one of my favorite parts of adding engagements to a wedding package! Looking for this quality in a wedding photographer?! You’ve found her, Let’s get started!
This location instantly transported us into that peaceful, storybook French atmosphere — crisp white walls, climbing florals, green window shutters, and a cottage-style setting that felt like a countryside hideaway.
Everything about this session leaned into the simplicity and elegance of France: warm light, minimal distractions, natural posing, and soft romance in every frame. It’s proof that you can create a European engagement aesthetic anywhere when you focus on atmosphere and connection!
We drew inspiration speciically from iconic French cafés like Café de Flore & Provence favorites such as La Chassagnette which unlike Café de Flore, has a green house feel like The Kinlands shoppe in Utah!
The backbone of any European-inspired session is ease — nothing rigid, nothing over-styled, nothing forced. I instantly set up these love birds at The Kinlands’ small bistro-style café table, with the vines and flowers nearby, and let the couple fall naturally into conversation, laughter, and quiet in-between moments. Their chemistry did the rest!
The magic happens when you let yourselves simply be! No rushing, no posing checklist — just genuine presence. It’s the same feeling you get on a warm summer afternoon wandering through the South of France: slow, intentional, and romantic.
That energy translated into every image.
Their outfits were the perfect choice for this look. She wore a soft, romantic, puff-sleeve dress that floated with the breeze and captured the feminine, effortless aesthetic of French countryside style. He paired a dark sweater with a classic button-down — simple, chic, and timeless.
When creating French inspired engagements, choosing the right wardrobe can make all the difference. Think:
This combination photographs beautifully and brings out that elevated, Paris-meets-Provence charm we all adore!
The heart of this session was connection — the way they playfully held hands, how he kissed her hand to make her blush, the soft laughter when they sat across from each other at the café table!
French romance isn’t loud.
It’s subtle. Soft.
Whispered. Felt.
And that’s exactly how I approached posing: prompting them to interact, laugh, and naturally fall into each other more!
We stepped into pockets of warm light, found cozy corners around the shoppe, and let the styling and atmosphere tell the story. My favorite touch was the emerald green door with the flowers drapping the frame, just like you see in Paris! This is the kind of energy that couples dreaming of destination weddings in France love — timeless, emotional, and deeply personal.
