In June 2021, Anna and Luke’s wedding plans were shattered when they learned that their Sedona venue had been destroyed by the Arizona forest fires. With only three days to go before their big day, they faced an impossible situation: how could they still get married and experience the breathtaking scenery they had envisioned? What followed was an inspiring tale of adaptability, determination, and love that ultimately led to an Arches National Park elopement. Truly one of the most stunning Moab wedding ceremonies you’ll ever see!
Anna and Luke had always dreamed of a wedding surrounded by the majestic red rock formations of Sedona, Arizona. But when the fires wreaked havoc on their venue, they knew they had to make a last-minute change. Despite the setback, they were determined to keep their original vision alive—without compromising on the experience or the beauty they had planned for.
After a quick but heartfelt brainstorming session, we decided to bring their dream to life in a completely different location: Arches National Park in Moab, UT. The iconic red rock formations here mirrored the beauty of Sedona, creating the perfect backdrop for their Arches National Park elopement. With a deep connection to nature and a love for the outdoors, Anna and Luke immediately knew this was the place they would marry.
With their venue in Sedona no longer an option, we knew the next step was ensuring that Anna and Luke could have the intimate experience they had always envisioned—close family, breathtaking views, and a ceremony full of meaning. We made the decision to keep the guest list small, inviting only their immediate families, so they could focus entirely on the commitment they were about to make to each other.
We worked quickly to book a new officiant, who was able to be there for the ceremony in just a couple of days’ notice. If you’re looking for an officiant, don’t hesitate & book Universal Heart Ministry! Simultaneously, I coordinated the delivery of their new bouquets from Bohotanical, a fantastic florist who was able to create the perfect arrangements to match the stunning landscape of Arches. I picked up the bouquets to ensure they arrived on time, then headed to Moab helping Anna and Luke feel the magic of their special day.
To make sure their Arches National Park elopement ceremony went off without a hitch, I also secured a permit for the iconic Window Arch location—one of the most picturesque spots in the park. With the permit in hand, Anna and Luke had the perfect setting to say their vows, surrounded by the breathtaking arches that had become the symbol of their love story.
And for couples who want to experience their own Arches National Park elopement, I can help with acquiring the necessary permits and ensuring you get to say “I do” at your dream location in the park.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds, their families, and I headed to the Hilton’s Hoodoo Moab Hotel for an intimate dinner celebration. Despite the whirlwind of emotions and the last-minute changes, Anna and Luke still had a chance to enjoy some traditional wedding moments. They shared a sweet cake cutting and shared their first dance as husband and wife. It was the perfect way to cap off a day that had been full of surprises, but ultimately, one that had led to the triumph of their love.
What started as a heartbreaking moment for Anna and Luke turned into a beautiful and intimate Arches National Park elopement. With some quick thinking and determination, they were able to make their wedding day even more special than they had ever imagined. The stunning photos from the day speak for themselves—capturing not only the raw beauty of the red rocks but also the deep love and joy they felt as they said their vows surrounded by those who mattered most.
This story is a perfect reminder that love can find a way, no matter the obstacles. Even when things don’t go according to plan, you can still create the wedding of your dreams—one that is uniquely yours and filled with unforgettable moments. Anna and Luke’s Arches National Park elopement was a true testament to their resilience, their love, and their ability to make magic out of the most unexpected circumstances.
The photos prove it: tragedy turned triumph for these lovebirds—and their elopement will forever be a celebration of their unbreakable bond!
